Following an announcement late last month, Medicom Toy’s latest set of bearbricks, produced in collaboration with renowned British electronic duo UNKLE, are now hitting select stores. Both a 100% and 400% version are made available, featuring artwork from UNKLE’s latest album release, Where Did the Night Fall. Check with your local Medicom Toy stockist for availability, or if you’re located in Hawaii, they’re now available through Leilow Hawaii.

Japanese superflat artist Takashi Murakami will be making his way to New York City this November as an announcement has been made about his role in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He’ll be designing two floats, each based off his studio mascots, “Kaikai” and “Kiki”, with the heads measuring in at 16 ft wide. No further information is available at the moment but stay tuned as we get closer to November.

Brian Donnelly, better known by the moniker KAWS has previewed his preparation for his latest exhibition titled “Passing Through” debuting in Hong Kong. The artist will have various paintings, sculptures, and graphics on display, but the piece generating the most fervor is the debut of his 5 meter Companion sculpture. This is by far the largest sculpture KAWS has undertaken, and he’s provided a preview of the exhibition’s mainstay. The exhibition kicks off October 4th and runs through to the 24th.

Along with an unveiling of its Star Wars Kubrick DX Series 2, Medicom Toy gives a look into the bonus design for this series, an Imperial AT-ST Scout Walker. Unfortunately the Scout Walker will not come whole, as it comes together with the bonus pieces featured within each Kubrick from the set. Either way, its something to look forward to!

Following several teasers, Medicom Toy reveals better images into its latest production with OriginalFake, this time taking on two of the animated world’s most lovable creations, Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket. Both are given the KAWS touch with his iconic “X” motif implemented on each figure’s hands. The set will retail at ￥17,640 (Approx. $206 USD), with a release date set for August 28th at the OriginalFake store in Tokyo. A drop through other select global retailers should be expected in time. Armed with the industry standards–Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects–it’s their job to break down the Spitzer Space Telescope’s complex scientific data into visualizations that are accessible and meaningful to the average viewer. But their artistic challenge is unique: Human eyes have never seen the objects they are creating.

Hip hop changed my life, I grew up in the struggles of the U.S.!! To see hip hop give life to the mother land like it did for me in the states touches my soul. To be taken from Africa then brought to the states to be slaves, to breaking free & creating hip hop and having that be one of the things that helps free our brothers & sisters from the pain and war back in Africa shows me that hip hop was God send!!

Murakami is one of the illest in the game if you ever get to see his work in person it will change your life.. Only 300 of these will be available starting September 11th which is 2 days before the opening of Takashi’s show in Versailles, France.

Medicom Toy enlists the efforts of Stussy and the Star Wars franchise to develop one of its newest Bearbrick designs, molded after the iconic Darth Vader character. Coming in its medium 400% scale, the toy takes on your traditional Darth Vader look with slight Stussy details, including the addition of a chain necklace. Look for an official release on August 14th through ISETAN Shinjuku, as well as other select stockists.
