The OriginalFake x NEIGHBORHOOD collaboration continues on into April with a new series of graphic tees. Not to be outdone, the collection also yields two denim styles in a clean raw wash. The imagery on the denim is visible via the back pockets while the tees continue on a mostly NEIGHBORHOOD-esque style.
Translating Japanese streetwear icon Hiroshi Fujiwara into his vinyl form has proved to be a worthwhile endeavor in the case of vinyl toy specialists adFunture. Having seen their first version come to fruition last year, adFunture prepare for a second version of their Hiroshi Fujiwara figure sporting some of the designer’s most recognized creations in the realm of fashion. Showing its diversity across popular Japanese culture, A Bathing Ape recently created a special capsule of products with the Hanshin Tigers. The professional baseball team sees its aesthetic and theme applied over numerous items ranging from both fashion to accessories such as keychains. Seen here are some of the apparel offerings and accessories which include the incorporation of both the Tigers’ mascot and Baby Milo. The items which were only available via a special Osaka exhibition are available now at Anytime.
Vans Vault continues to impress with their 2009 Fall assortment of footwear. Various new model interpretations make an appearance this upcoming season including a look into these Needle LX sneakers. Six different colorways are seen here, mixed with a blend of premium materials and traditional vulcanized soles. Look for these at Vans Vault dealers in the latter part of 2009.

The whole DSLR world just got all that more competitive as Canon recently announced its latest members to the family, the EOS 500D/Rebel T1i (name dependent on where you live). The addition to the Rebel collection, the EOS 500D effectively cannibalizes Canon’s other crop sensor camera, the 50D (which I was bitching about on my twitter ha) as it incorporates the same 15.1 MP sensor with similar ISO ranges AS WELL as offering HD-recording. While not on par with the Canon 5D Mark II, the camera does shoot 720p @ 30 fps or 1080p @ a reduced 20 fps. The camera also enjoys a nice 920,000 pixels viewing screen. The estimated street price when it drops in May is approximately $799 USD (body-only) and $899 for the kit which includes the EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. The 500D now joins the 5D Mark II and Nikon D90 as the front-runners in the HD-capable DSLR segment.

Marking the new year, Nigo’s empire looks towards a new collection bearing the 16th number. Four t-shirt interpretations and six different colorways in the Roadsta sneaker look to make a flashy debut soon. Stay tuned.

The cover of May’s issue of EYESCREAM Magazine will feature legendary Japanese entrepreneurs/designers Nigo and Hiroshi Fujiwara. These guys have influenced the culture in so many ways and I can’t wait to get my hands on this issue of Eyescream.
*A little known fact I read somewhere is that Nigo means number 2 and he refers to Hiroshi as being number 1.
