New from Vans for Spring/Summer 2012 comes a trio of releases featuring the timeless Era. Composed of the usual canvas upper and vulcanized gum rubber sole with white foxing, the kicks sport a distressed and faded look, perfect for the sunny months and warm weather ahead. Complete with white contrast stitching and a black foxing stripe, the Vans Era Distressed Pack features Classic Blue, Black and Formula One colorways are now available from Premier. Retail is set at $55 USD each.
Highsnobiety has linked with NY-based Amongst Friends to re-work the brand’s heralded Field Boot. The footwear boasts the classic wheat colorway, as the upper is predominantly comprised of suede. Patches of Navy nylon have been implemented alongside, at the collar, and on the tongue to aid in breathability as well as make for a nice contrast. Appropriated branding has been stitched atop the tongue and also branded on the side, as you can pick up a pair of the limited edition boots (70 pairs globally) through a handful of select retailers, including Amongst Friends.
Today we came across the announcement that Converse has teamed up with our favorite band & world-famous musical super groups, Gorillaz, for one of the most truly special Chuck Taylor collection. This amazing collaboration is launching in February 2012, the collection combines the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star with the band’s legendary graphic images. Award-winning designer and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett has designed exclusive prints incorporating elements from their groundbreaking artwork, melding their diverse backgrounds and unique influences to create a revolutionary collection. The Gorillaz collection contains four different looks inspired by the band, including a military-inspired camouflage print taken from the cover of their self-titled debut. All shoes from the collection contain a Gorillaz heel tab and hang tag with additional details on the product. The full Gorillaz Chuck Taylor All Star collection will be revealed in February 2012 and available nationwide and globally at select retail stores and online for $60 USD.
